RemotePass secures $17.4 million to expand global payroll and hiring platform
RemotePass has raised $17.4 million in Series B funding to expand its global payroll, hiring, and spend management platform, with plans to grow in Europe and the US and invest further in compliance, financial services, and AI capabilities.
Global employment platform RemotePass has raised $17.4 million in Series B funding to accelerate the growth of its payroll, hiring, and spend management services for distributed workforces. The company plans to use the fresh capital to deepen its presence in Europe and the United States and to extend its compliance and financial technology offering.
Founded in 2021, RemotePass focuses on simplifying how companies hire, pay, and support workers across borders, particularly in markets where legal, banking, and compliance frameworks are complex or underdeveloped.
Series B round led by EBRD Venture Capital
The $17.4 million Series B was led by EBRD Venture Capital (EBRD), with participation from 500 Global and existing backers Oraseya Capital, 212 VC, Access Bridge Ventures, and Khwarizmi Ventures. According to the investors, the company has achieved meaningful scale while using significantly less capital than many competitors in the same category, highlighting a disciplined approach to execution.
EBRD Venture Capital emphasized that RemotePass is reducing friction for employers operating across emerging markets, while also enabling tens of thousands of workers to access new economic opportunities. The fund views RemotePass as an example of a business built in an emerging market that has the product depth and commercial momentum to compete globally, including in Europe and the US.
End-to-end platform for global teams
RemotePass was launched by co-founders Kamal Reggad and Karim Nadi to address the operational and regulatory challenges of managing cross-border teams. Instead of requiring companies to set up local entities in each country, the platform offers an end-to-end solution that combines employment, payments, and compliance.
Its services cover employer of record (EOR) arrangements, contractor management, payroll processing, and compliance oversight. On top of this, RemotePass has built a financial services layer that gives workers access to USD accounts, global payment cards, and health insurance, integrating workforce management with day-to-day financial needs.
The company reports that it reached profitability in early 2025. Its customer base includes international groups such as Logitech, Tata Group, InDrive, and Careem, which use the platform to manage employees and contractors in multiple jurisdictions.
New products: SpendCards and AI-driven workflows
In late 2025, RemotePass introduced SpendCards, a corporate expense card product embedded directly into its platform. This addition is designed to merge payroll, contractor payments, and company spending into one unified system, regardless of where workers are located or the type of contracts they have.
Alongside SpendCards, RemotePass has deployed AI agents that automate key parts of the employment lifecycle, including onboarding, compliance checks, and customer support. These tools are intended to reduce manual work for HR and finance teams while maintaining adherence to local regulations.
Growing traction in Europe and the US
While RemotePass initially focused on markets where local infrastructure and regulations are more difficult to navigate, Europe and the United States have become two of its fastest-growing regions. Companies in these markets are turning to the platform to onboard, pay, and support workers across geographies where traditional providers have limited reach or experience.
Chief executive and co-founder Kamal Reggad describes the new funding as a way to accelerate an already established product-market fit. He notes that hiring is only the initial entry point for customers and that demand increasingly centers on a single platform that supports teams end-to-end, including embedded financial services that enable distributed work.
How RemotePass plans to use the new funding
The Series B capital will be directed toward expanding the company’s footprint in Europe and the US, strengthening its compliance coverage across more jurisdictions, and further developing its financial services and AI capabilities. These areas have become core differentiators for RemotePass as competition intensifies in the global employment market.
With profitability already achieved and new strategic investors on board, RemotePass aims to consolidate its position as a leading solution for businesses managing remote and distributed teams across both emerging and developed markets.
