DDD Invoices secures €1.31 million to streamline global e-invoicing compliance

Slovenian startup DDD Invoices has raised fresh seed funding to tackle one of the fastest-growing pain points in global business: keeping up with increasingly complex e-invoicing and tax reporting rules in multiple countries.

By offering a single API that connects business software with tax authorities and e-invoicing networks worldwide, the company aims to reduce the cost and complexity of staying compliant as regulations tighten and firms expand internationally.

Seed round to scale e-invoicing infrastructure

DDD Invoices, headquartered in Ljubljana, has secured a €1.31 million seed round. The investment is led by Fil Rouge Capital and 500 Global, alongside several seasoned operators from the ERP and e-invoicing sector.

The round is complemented by angel investors and advisors with backgrounds at well-known industry players such as IFS, Pagero, Tickstar, Arratech, and Docupath. Their experience spans enterprise resource planning, e-invoicing networks, and compliance-focused business software.

Growing pressure from real-time e-invoicing mandates

Governments around the world are progressively moving toward real-time or near real-time electronic invoice reporting to national tax portals. Each jurisdiction typically sets its own data formats, validation checks, submission channels, and archiving obligations.

For companies operating in multiple countries, as well as for ERP, accounting, and SaaS providers that serve them, this patchwork of rules creates a heavy technical and operational burden. Integrations must be built and maintained separately for each market, often at significant cost and with ongoing compliance risk.

DDD Invoices is positioning itself as a single layer of infrastructure that abstracts this complexity away from software vendors and their customers.

Unified API for tax-compliant e-invoicing

The company’s platform is built around an API-first architecture. Through one unified interface, it links ERP systems, accounting tools, and SaaS platforms to local tax portals, Peppol networks, and continuous transaction control (CTC) reporting environments in multiple countries.

Once connected, the platform supports issuing, receiving, and archiving e-invoices in line with local legal requirements. This includes adherence to CTC rules, specific e-invoicing standards, and fiscalization frameworks where applicable.

According to the company, proprietary AI-based logic is used to convert standardized invoice data into jurisdiction-specific formats, validate each invoice against up-to-date regulations, route it to the correct tax or e-invoicing system, and send status updates back to the originating application.

For businesses still working with unstructured documents such as PDF invoices, DDD Invoices also employs AI-driven document processing to extract and structure key invoice data automatically, enabling it to be handled within the same compliance workflow.

Targeting software vendors facing cross-border complexity

CEO and co-founder Denis Vehovec Pondelak notes that software companies expanding across borders are facing a rapid increase in local compliance demands. While tax and reporting obligations have always been a necessary part of doing business, he points out that new rules and real-time requirements are adding further complexity just as firms and SaaS platforms globalize earlier in their growth.

By offering reusable infrastructure, DDD Invoices aims to allow product teams to offload much of this compliance work and focus on their core features, rather than building and maintaining multiple local integrations in-house.

Experienced founding team and early customers

DDD Invoices was founded by a team with more than three decades of combined experience in business software, including the development of ERP solutions for both public sector bodies and private companies.

The platform is already used by customers such as Access Group, Zenoti, Logitude, and WheelSys across several international markets. To make adoption easier, DDD Invoices also provides native integrations with widely used systems including Stripe, Bitrix, Shopify, and Chargebee.

Next steps after the funding round

The newly raised capital will be used to extend the number of countries and tax regimes covered by the platform, speed up deployment and integration for partners, and expand the company’s product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.

As more governments introduce or tighten e-invoicing and real-time reporting requirements, DDD Invoices is positioning itself as an enabling layer for both financial and business software providers that need to stay compliant while operating at global scale.
